Stephanie accepts briefs in all areas of criminal law and quasi-criminal law, including administrative and regulatory matters.

Stephanie is an experienced criminal advocate and has appeared for clients in a range of contested hearings in both the Magistrates’ Court and County Court. Stephanie has also appeared as junior counsel in a number of complex County Court trials.

Stephanie accepts briefs in all areas of criminal law and quasi-criminal law, including administrative and regulatory matters. She is an experienced criminal advocate and has appeared for clients in a range of contested hearings in both the Magistrates’ Court and County Court. Stephanie has also appeared as junior counsel in a number of complex County Court trials.


Stephanie has prepared and instructed in a range of criminal defence matters, including trials for murder, culpable driving, sexual offences, violent offences, drug trafficking/importation and property offences.  This has included both state and Commonwealth offences. 


Stephanie has a strong interest in post-sentence applications and reviews, including Supervision Order proceedings and Crimes (Mental Impairment) hearings. She also accepts briefs in coronial inquests, OH&S matters and other quasi-criminal work, including council prosecutions and other disciplinary and regulatory tribunal work. 


Prior to coming to the Bar, Stephanie worked as a Senior Lawyer at Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) in the Indictable Crime Team, which included regular appearances as a solicitor advocate. Stephanie began her career as a solicitor at the Office of Public Prosecutions. There, she gained experience in a broad range of indictable matters and developed specialised knowledge in sexual offences.


Stephanie graduated from the Australian National University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Laws with first class honours and a Bachelor of Arts.


Stephanie has been selected as a participant in VLA's Trial Counsel Development Program for 2019 and is a member of the VLA Preferred Barrister List.  


Stephanie read with Georgina Coghlan and her senior mentor was Julian McMahon AC SC.
