Karen practices in public, regulatory and criminal law.

She appears in all criminal proceedings including trials, appeals and judicial reviews. Karen also acts in Royal Commissions, inquests, inquiries and other regulatory and professional disciplinary hearings. 


Karen has particular expertise in occupational health and safety and related regulatory proceedings. She also has substantial experience in proceedings under the Serious Offenders Act 2018 and Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997, coercive examinations and public interest immunity claims. 


Karen has a Master of Laws (LLM) specialising in corporate regulation, criminal law and human rights. 


She was appointed Senior Counsel in August 2024.


Karen holds an Indictable Crime Certificate and is on the Victoria Legal Aid Preferred Trial Counsel List.
