Emma is an experienced advocate who accepts briefs to appear and advise in criminal and quasi-criminal matters.


She accepts both defence and prosecution briefs. She also accepts briefs to appear in coronial inquests, disciplinary tribunals and other regulatory hearings.


Emma regularly appears in a broad range of contested criminal proceedings. As junior counsel, Emma has appeared led in criminal trials and in substantive reference determination proceedings, most recently in Re Mokbel (No 6) [2024] VSC 305 (led by J Condon KC).


Emma is a participant in the 2024 VLA Trial Counsel Development Program.


Emma came to the bar with ten years' experience as a solicitor advocate, having practiced in both commercial litigation and criminal law. Prior to signing the Bar Roll, Emma was a senior solicitor advocate at the Office of Public Prosecutions, where she worked in the advocacy division and the specialised sexual offences unit. Emma previously worked as a solicitor in New South Wales and in private practice in commercial disputes and insolvency.


Emma was associate to the Honourable Justice Hollingworth at the Supreme Court of Victoria. She read with Leighton Gwynn and her senior mentor is Julie Condon KC.
